Parking

What do you think of the impact on Fortess Road of the Dartmouth Park Healthy Neighbourhood scheme? Particularly the proposed bus and cycle lanes down FR.

Has anyone confirmed the plans for parking and yellow lines?

Hello Dan

Not to my knowledge. But I have no more knowledge than anybody else. The only details I have seen are on
https://dartmouthpark.commonplace.is/en ... rvey/start
which doesn't give the details you ask for.

I imagine there will be more detail in the next consultation period. This will last for four weeks. When will it start? We don't know. The Council have promised that it will not overlap the school holidays, so we're safe until January, but it could start any time after that. The Council should announce it to all affected residents, but they should have announced the previous consultation to all residents also, and seem not to have done.

Whether that detail will include exact data on parking, I cannot say. The scheme as it stands seems to slice permit area CA-M in two, and to reduce or eliminate parking on Fortess Road itself. There are certainly questions to be answered about parking.

Regardless of what anybody thinks about the scheme itself, I suggest it's important for as many residents as possible to be made aware this is happening. Anything you can do to help on this would, I'm sure, be appreciated by your neighbours.
